- Tax Credits: Applies to all Colorado Residents. You do not need to Income Qualify, fill out an application or receive a voucher. Come in, fill out a form (takes 2 minutes), we'll get a copy of your Colorado ID....and then you can get $450 off that same-day! One Tax Credit per resident, per year.
- Rebates: Must Apply & Income Qualify. Will then be entered into a lottery. If name is pulled, a voucher is be used to purchase an eBike. Colorado Rebates can be combined with the CO Tax Credit; City of Boulder Rebates cannot be combined.

$450 CO Tax Credits
Applies to all Colorado Residents. You do not need to Income Qualify, or fill out an application for a voucher. Come in, fill out a form, we'll get a copy of your Colorado ID.. and then you can get $450 off that same-day! One Tax Credit per resident per year. Must be 18. COLORADO E-BIKE TAX CREDIT
(Applies to all Colorado Residents)
Get an immediate $450 off off any e-Bike we sell!
If you are a Colorado resident, this tax credit applies to you! You will receive $450 off at point-of-sale. All e-Bikes sold by LBC qualify for the tax credit. You can also stack this with a CO Rebate if you were awarded one (see details for rebates below).
Details:
- Proof of residency is required (Driver's License, bill, bank statement, etc.)
- Each CO Resident can receive one discount per calendar year
- Purchases made on the website must be paid in full. You will receive the $450 refund once you show proof of residency at pickup and have filled out and given us Form DR 0514
- We will ask for and file Form DR 0514, along with a copy of your Colorado ID at time of purchase/pickup.
- Eligible only on new e-Bike purchases *All our eBikes are new
- No minimum or maximum price restrictions apply.
- E-bike must be UL certified ( UL2849, UL2271, EN14194). *All our eBikes are UL certified
- Must have an electric motor that is 750 watts or less and must not be gasoline-powered. *All our bikes
- Must have two or three wheels and fully operable pedals. * All our bikes
- May be any class of e-bike (per the State of Colorado e-bike definition). Includes:
- Class 1: an electrical assisted bicycle equipped with a motor that provides assistance only when the rider is pedaling and that ceases to provide assistance when the bicycle reaches a speed of 20 mph.
- Class 2: an electrical assisted bicycle equipped with a motor that provides assistance regardless of whether the rider is pedaling but ceases to provide assistance when the bicycle reaches a speed of 20 mph.
- Class 3: an electrical assisted bicycle equipped with a motor that provides assistance only when the rider is pedaling and that ceases to provide assistance when the bicycle reaches a speed of 28 mph.
COLORADO E-BIKE REBATES
(Must submit application to income qualify and be added to the lottery)
If chosen from the lottery, you'll be given a voucher that can be used towards a new eBike.
- Vouchers up to $1,100 for standard e-bikes, up to $1,400 for cargo and $1650 for adaptive e-bikes. The voucher amount varies, with lower-income residents eligible for higher discounts.
- Can be combined with $450 CO Tax Credit.
- Applies to Colorado residents.
- Must income qualify.
- Name will be added to lottery. If chosen, a voucher will be issued to use towards purchase of an e-Bike.
Details:
- Any class of e-bike (per the State of Colorado e-bike definition). Class 1, 2 or 3
- Has two or three wheels and fully operable pedals
- Electric motor is 750 watts or less; may not be gasoline-powered
- Full-suspension mountain bikes are not eligible for this rebate
- Maximum purchase price of $5,000 for standard, $8500 for cargo or adaptive.
When To Apply:
- The next application period will open on Monday, September 16, 2024 at 10:00 AM MT and close Monday, September 23, 2024 at 4:00 PM MT. This will be the final opportunity to apply for these rebates.
See if you qualify:
- Low - 80 Percent Area Median Income (EX: $81,760 Boulder County 1person household)
- Moderate - 80-100 Percent Area Median Income (Ex: $102,200 Boulder County 1person household)
CITY OF BOULDER E-BIKE REBATES
(Must submit application to income qualify and be added to the lottery)
If chosen from the lottery, you'll be given a voucher that can be used towards a new eBike.
- Vouchers of up to $2,100 for standard e-bikes and up to $2,700 for cargo and adaptive e-bikes. The voucher amount varies, with lower-income residents eligible for higher discounts.
- Cannot be combined with $450 Tax Credit.
- Applies to City of Boulder residents.
- Must income qualify.
- Name will be added to lottery. If chosen, a voucher will be issued to use towards purchase of an e-Bike.
Details:
- Class 1 & 2 Only
- Has two or three wheels and fully operable pedals
- Electric motor is 750 watts or less; may not be gasoline-powered
- Full-suspension mountain bikes are not eligible for this rebate
- No minimum or maximum purchase price
When To Apply:
- The next application period will open on Monday, September 16, 2024 at 9:00 AM MT and close Monday, September 30, 2024 at 11:00 AM MT.
See if you qualify:
- Your income must be at or below 80% area median income (AMI), as defined in the chart below. If your income is at or below 60% AMI, you are eligible for higher discounts. All selected applicants will need to provide proof of residency and proof of income qualification.
